Our mission is to help restore the biodiversity and carbon-capturing potential of rainforests.

Since June 2020, we’ve committed to planting two trees for every pair of sneakers we sell. Our work starts in the Brazilian rainforest, where only 12.4% of the forest floor remains following widespread urbanization and agricultural logging. With the goal of restoring biological diversity in this essential biome, we plant over 120 tree species, based on what’s native to each site

  • Lining: Organic cotton canvas
  • Sole: Slip-resistant rubber
  • Insole: Cork + bio-based foam (from mamona oil)
  • Laces: Made with rPET + organic cotton, and debossed metal aglets
  • Construction: Vulcanized sneaker; fully stitched outsole

  • Board Feel

    The sticky grip outsole is made with raw natural gum rubber in a classic herringbone pattern so that the shoe moves with you and grips.

  • Side Traction

    Its foxing utilizes thicker diagonal stripes that are actually carved into the outsole so that the channel gives you more traction and improves your flick.

  • Reinforced Flick Point

    We added a triple-stitch upper at the flick point to increase the shoe’s lifespan and overall durability.

  • Memory Foam Insole

    The CATIBA Pro’s insole mimics the anatomy of the foot with its signature memory foam and provides arch support & ultimate comfort.

Nurturing the planet is a cause that’s very dear to us at Cariuma. That’s why we decided to start our own Reforestation Program in our founders’ homeland, Brazil, where the rainforests are home to an increasing number of endangered plants & animals. For every pair of sustainable sneakers purchased, we plant a pair of trees in the Brazilian rainforest to directly aid in the restoration and preservation of these natural habitats.

Une bonne surprise

Première impression : sortie de la boite, ok top elles sont légères !
Deuxième impression : bizarre on dirait quelles sont un peu « rigides »…
Passons aux constatations.
Premier constat : les photos ne mentent pas, elles sont stylées, y’a des petits détails qui montrent du soin apporté à la finition, les lacets ne sont pas « cheap ».
Deuxième constat : un peu déroutant au premier abord mais le confort est immédiat , un bon compromis entre maintien du pied et souplesse du vulcanisé. La rigidité n’était bien qu’une (fausse) impression.
Troisième constat : session skate, je suis habitué aux shoes vulcanisées de chez V..s, donc petit temps d’adaptation et… ben je vais pas quitter ces Catiba de sitôt ! C’est exactement ce que je cherchais, du grip, du maintien, de l’amorti sans sacrifier le board feel.
(Tenez bon j’ai presque fini ! )
Une bonne surprise donc ces Catiba (et Cariuma en général) pour sortir de l’ordinaire que ce soit pour skater ou à porter tous les jours.
