Paris with Hortense

Introducing Wander Maps - our new series exploring cities through the eyes of Cariuma friends around the world.

We begin in Paris with Hortense Boudet, who invites us into her Montmartre. From flower runs at O’ Fleurs to golden-hour skate sessions along the Seine, discover the places that inspire her to slow down, create, and connect.

Montmartre

A village on a hill with Paris at its feet

Perched high above the city, Montmartre feels less like a neighbourhood and more like a self-contained village. A magnet for creatives, cobblestone streets wind past sunlit cafés, pocket-sized galleries, and bistros buzzing with regulars. This is Hortense’s neighbourhood, where errands blur into strolls and inspiration hides in every window.

O’ Fleurs de Montmartre

A single stem or a full bouquet, always a lift for the soul

Just steps from Jules Joffrin station, O’ Fleurs de Montmartre has been bringing colour and life to the neighbourhood for over two decades. With friendly florists who’ll guide you to what’s freshest and most sustainable that week, whether you leave with one perfect stem or an armful of flowers, you’ll walk away lighter, inspired by the quiet joy of bringing nature home.

Two Doors

A laid-back hideaway for coffee, conversation, and community

Tucked away behind its namesake double doors, this cosy café is as warm in spirit as it is in atmosphere. Known for its vegan-friendly menu and vegetarian staples, it’s a go-to for locals like Hortense, who often settle into the indoor seating with a notebook or a friend. Proudly queer-friendly and welcoming to four-legged companions, it draws a creative, dog-loving crowd, the kind of place where your morning coffee can turn into an afternoon of ideas.

Sacré-Cœur

Only two minutes from home, and still never close enough

Every time Hortense walks up the steps to Sacré‑Cœur, she’s reminded how this postcard‑perfect monument always feels both familiar and new. Few know it, but just beside those soaring domes lies Clos Montmartre, a hidden Parisian vineyard with its own grapevines and an annual Fête des Vendanges (Harvest Festival) every October, filled with parades, tastings, concerts, and even guided tours of the vines.

8 Quai Anatole

Where the city skates into golden hour

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, this riverside stretch becomes Hortense’s second home. It’s where she meets Concrete Surf Riders—a crew built on the belief that skateboarding should be a safe, welcoming space for every gender, level, and age. Around them, other skate groups roll in, and soon the quay turns into a melting pot of styles and stories. What she loves most is the mix: people from every background sharing tricks, laughter, and that perfect Parisian sunset over the Seine.
