Doheny State Beach Northside

Louise’s everyday surf ritual.

Doheny Northside is one of Southern California’s most beloved surf spots, with a wave for every level. Longboarders gather at the Jetty, known as the Boneyard, where Louise often paddles out to start her day. It’s mellow, welcoming, and the kind of lineup where beginners and locals share waves with smiles. For Dana Point surfers, catching a few fun rides here is less a choice and more a daily rhythm.

Bear Coast Coffee

Paris croissants, Dana Point mornings.

Surf and coffee go hand-in-hand. For Louise, Bear Coast Coffee is the spot to fuel up before paddling out or to regroup with friends after a session. The croissants take her straight back to Paris, while the laid-back, outdoor seating keeps her anchored in Dana Point’s easygoing spirit. It’s the kind of place where you’ll run into the same surfers day after day — wetsuits drying, sandy toes, and a good cup of coffee in hand.

Surf Locos Warehouse

Where the brand meets the lifestyle.

Less than 10 minutes from the beach is the Surf Locos Warehouse, Louise’s creative home base. Six years ago, she and her friend Naomi started Surf Locos to embody their surf-and-skate lifestyle. The brand grew out of daily life in Dana Point: salty hair, shared laughs, and endless inspiration from the coast. It’s where passion meets purpose — and where Louise keeps her world in motion.

Primo Foods

Tacos worth the wait.

Every surfer needs a reliable taco stop, and Primo Foods is Louise’s go-to. Tucked just outside Dana Point in San Clemente, it’s the kind of local gem you hear about from friends, then can’t stop returning to. The line is almost always out the door, but worth the wait: authentic Mexican street tacos, an entire wall of drinks to choose from, and nothing fancy — just flavor that makes you grin. Grab it to go, and you’re set.

Doheny State Beach Southside

Cruising into golden hour.

If Northside is Louise’s morning, Southside is her evening. As the sun drops, the beach comes alive with campers, fire pits, and the golden glow of a California sunset. Louise loves to cruise the two-mile asphalt strip that links Southside to Northside — skating with waves crashing beside her. Tide pools, picnic tables, and the smell of wood smoke make every evening feel like summer. It’s the perfect close to a day well-lived.
